I have no idea where to post this so here it goes. If anyone could lead me in the right direction I'd be very thankful. So I bought this watch from a good buddy liking the way it looks. I believe it to be WW2-Era but American wrist watches aren't my thing. I know it is old. I only paid 20 USD. So can anyone give me some info on it?

Not military related. You need to ask about this on a dedicated watch collectors forum.

    Cheers, Ade.

I think Harry was joking. All fun in games. I agree with Ade.

Although square wristwatch cases were popular in the 40's, this could be late
40's or 50's as well, but it is much too fancy for a military watch. With a
cloth tan/green or plain brown leather replacement strap, it might pass
    for a period timepiece.

What you want is an 'A-11' or a look-alike.........

Bulova made a Brewster watch in the 40's that was rectangular, but Bulova was clearly printed on the face. Is the name Bulova found anywhere on the watch--front ot back? As others have said, it's definitely a civilian wristwatch. Dwight

What are the initials on the sides? I can see an "E" and a "W" on one side but that is all I can make out.
