I never set out to collect ammo boxes, honest guv'. They just keep leaping into my path, like this little beauty. I was driving through Goulburn NSW and stopped at an army disposals shop there (absolutely no connection etc) and found these boxes for $15 each. Most still have the paper "EMPTY" seals and my seal is dated 1973, so it has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for 41 years. It's amazing what turns up sometimes. Other boxes had 7.62 ammo and there were metal ones too. The wood ones are 16" long.
