    Hi, this a 10 euro find from today.
    A US army field telephone, navy issue.
    Really heavy, complete and maybe working, who knows??
    But no visible date stamps, is there a way to place it in a certain period?

    the markings should help you date it !! also 10 euro is cheap for one it is worth more then that

    These were used prior to ww2, all the way to vietnam. However being housed in leather, it should very well be from ww2 to Korea.
    But in korea, the us were already using these with canvas material.
    But one thing is clearly mentioned, the type of straps. Leather or canvas.
    By start of the pacific campaign the us adopted canvas straps, due to leather not holding up very well with the heat.
    So by late war, or the end, canvas was already being used in full.
    My conclusion would be, this is pre or early war navy issue.

    I know of two local to me. Neither have complete leather straps and are both listed for $90 a piece. 10€ is a steal!
