Belgian civic gas mask

Well, I have this gasmask over 10 years. Nothing special about it, you can buy these for 5 euros on flea markets. It's 1939 dated and came with all these manuals. I think some of the manuals are from the Cold War era, they explain what to do in case of an exploding nuke. Maybe someone can clear this up?
