No idea. I am going to take a stab in the dark and suggest HKSS is an abreviation for Hotchkiss who made weapons in the day. 6 Pounder??

'QF'=quick firer, means the breech block works via an interrupted screw thread type for quick action-by 1917 that would be a gun for British tanks (previously the 6 pdr/57mm type had been an RN gun for defence against small torpedo boats/destroyers or part of the destroyer armament for such ships-obsolete by 1914 but also used for AA against a new threat as the war developed.
