Hi Guys, this was a new smaller compact repirator introduced in 1943. It was first given to frontline troops who had priority issue. It saw widespread service in NW Europe from June 1944 onwards. Also issued to Airborne Forces.

The filter screwed directly on the facepeice.

It saw a long service life and was still around in the 1960's.

The bag could be worn either with a sling across the shoulder, or fastened via the clips directly to the webbing belt. There were compartements on each side for the anti gas ointment tins and an internal pouch for the eyeshields anti gas. The anti dim tin was also carried in the bag.

These used to be harder to find than the regular service respirator, but a large quantity of these were made surplus from Danish Army stocks a few years ago which flooded the market.
