Default British White Weapons Sleeve.... what, who and where?

Recently picked up this british 1944 weapon sleeve in white and am looking for information about it.
What i'd like to know is :
    a) what is for (Bren)?
    b) why it is white (geussing winter.... Bulge/norway/alps)?
    c) and who they were issued to (paras, commandos, regular infantry, etc.)

    overall length is 1.14m
there are no 'N' marks on this or the other example i saw so i don't think they are navy.

    Any info would be apreciated.

    Thanks, Jim.

While I don't know what its for, it could also have been used by the Military Police I suppose?
