Looks like a Trench Art item to me too. I cannot say what it is made from.

Appears to be a small brass gong. I believe it is raised brass. What kind of brass I do not know.
Yes - pretty sure it's a cymbal/gong as you say Steve, but from here
it looks like it's made of copper.........?

Possibly the 155 numbering MIGHT refer to a 155mm shell case ? (Whats the rough diameter of the gong ?)

i think copper, but its very heavy. so might be a mix of brass and copper i dont know
gary j yep it's 155mm diameter. what could the other numbers and letters mean i wonder?
also, it's clealy being cut by hand, which isnt so clear in the photo.
there was a similar one on auction site but it had the star of david.
i was wondering if it was made out of a lid for something. did artillary shells come in tins with lids when they was being transported?
