    Could it be a modified Tanker Holster ? Here's my example .

    Mine is 8 1/2 inches long by 5 1/8 at it's widest , couldn't find a metric tape .

    I don't have a .38 to try the fit : (

    I have a cut down one too. A .38 Enfield should fit.....
