    Default gas masks

also found those two gas masks at a flea market, just do'nt know what they are.
I supose the left one in not in the right pouch as it is maked 06/89
Can't remember what I had to put on during my service???
Strange how one manages to erase bad memory's....
The right one should be IIWW periode as that one is marked 1935.

Hi Kris, both are Belgian issue.

The webbing bag on the left is post war issue. I don't know about the mask itself.

The tinned one is, as you thought, WW2 issue.

Funny how you forget about which one you wore Many Vets are like this.

    Cheers, Ade.

Finally I can actually comment on something I know about First of all the one on the left is a French A.N.P M51 made by Giat, which I believe was also used by the Belgian Army. The carrier you've got with it is the correct type for the mask Secondly the mask on the Left is an adult sized Belgian L.702 (Marked on top of the carrier/cannister) and was used during the Second World War by civilians. two very nice masks

    Thanks

    Danny

nice stuff, all i have is a republican guard gas mask. I have 2 actually, but my stepson has the other, the one I have has the R.G. triangle symbol between the eyes, it was never used it is wrapped in a plastic bag, with an unused cannister, and is stored in a canvas bag, the one my step son has is a R.G. mask as well, unused , wsith an unused cannister too, funny he talked me into giving him the one that is in a rubber waterproof carrier. oh well life goes on.
    regards
