Article about: This is not a family piece ( my dad was an RAF Flight Sergeant in WW11) but this Air Ministry Brass Dish AM 21C/9925/99/942/4260 WD caught my eye. Does anyone know what it was used for?

    I think someones taking the Pi55 out of everyone as a joke .
    Sort of funny , but weird at the same time ?

    Maybe not as daft as it looks......Air Ministry Category 21C refers to 'Barrack Equipment' which covers many diverse items from warning bells to ashtrays.

    I'm guessing here but this could be an Officers' Mess item such as a dish used by Stewards for loose change, passing messages to officers, etc.
