IV V.R.C. 3" MOR 1945 - ammo pouch?
Hi everyone.
I am new to this forum, and looking on it has given me some clues to what this object is already which is brilliant. However I haven't found any other items like this on my search so far... I am a Museums Collections Management trainee and currently accessioning some objects from a large donation into the collection for Stockport curatorial service.
If anyone has any clues to what this item is, perhaps you have come across one before, then I would be very grateful of your knowledge!
It is a charcoal grey and cream edged fabric pouch, with
IV
V.R.C.
3" MOR.
1945
stamped in white lettering in the centre on one side. I now know that 3" MOR relates to 3 inch mortar, and the only link I can make with V.R.C is the volunteer rifle corps?
The edges of the fabric have sewn on cream fabric tape, which ends as a loop or handle at the bottom of the bag.
I have two of these identical pouches to accession.
Here is a photograph.

Again, any help would be gratefully received, as my objetc record for this is quite simple at the moment. Would be great to have a bit more information.
Thanks
