If the price is right, then why not.................!

I suppose any blood would have turned a deep, blackish-brown by now.
Canteen pouch is a late 50's (1957?) model, with 'alice' clips.
Looks like a decent sized belt !
    Regards,

    Steve.

So you think the belt and the canteen are separate years etc.?

    Yep.......
See thats why I love this forum, I would have guessed WW2 all the way, so someone put these 2 together some time, just to make a complete unit. Well, I did'nt lose anything cause it was...........Free!

    Thanks Steve

This belt is different than what you would normally find gear attached to.
It is dress, Class 'A', or a trouser belt.

The US web 'Pistol Belt' is twice as wide, and has rivetted holes all
around it every 3 inches or so, for attaching various items
with bent wire hangers. These were used in WWI and
WWII, and a similar type was used in Vietnam.

    ( This is a repro pistol belt ! ! )

I guess the 'Alice' system was a better way
    of making stuff stay on.
    Regards,

    Steve.
