Article about: by ruddersrangers44 Iv'e always known these as the AVON NO4 army gas mask and was only used by the armed services?wasn,t the ARP mask issued to all non combat roles?........Jake. Not just Av
Dont worry! You have a perfectly good clean example of the service respirator.Nice that it has the No2 antigas ointment in a jar.Contemporary pictures show this in use alongside the type in the tins. They are fairly scarce.
As for the crowsfoot markings..somtimes they are just mis-stamped and the printed ones just wear off.
Now you just have to find a good MKV or MKVI bag and some eyeshields.
Very nice, I dont think you should have any reasons for concern, the markings are all very similar to my example.
Dear Douglas can you please check if your mark V gas mask has a date under the chin part.If i dont put you into trouble i would like to see a photo from your gas mask's interior just to compare it with mine. Many Thanks
