MKV gas mask stamp question!

Hello Mates!Yesterday mine Brit MKv gas mask arrived.I realized that the head's straps rubber pad has a red stamp under the factory's white one.The letters are,I think, M.R.R and the date 9-40.Can anyone inform me what the stamp stand for?Many Thanks for your time and help

Maybe a manufactor's stamp...

Its the manufacturers stamp, I've got a pile of them written down somewhere. Next time I'm home I'll try to locate them and let you know what it stands for, or I'll see if I can get in touch with the guy that told me what they were. Sorry that I can't be of more help right now, but I'll see what I can do.
