    Default Mystery Bag. 1937 pattern?

    A new flea market find for me today.The dimentions are: 8in across, 7in tall and 3in deep.It has two 'd' loops at the sides for a strap and inside there is a partition with 7 loops and at the inside back is a small pocket 3in x 1 1/2in.This can be done up by the eyelets.There is also two flaps snap fastenings.
    What is it for??it is well made and i cant find any dates..

    you have a hard to find british officers webbing breifcase
    there should probably be a date on the inside of the flap

    I dont follow you?Do you mean the officers valise?This bag is alot smaller..

    Hi Guys, strictly speaking it is not 1937 pattern. We collectors tend to lump every bit of WW2 webbing as being "37 pattern". This is not part of the 37 pattern equipment set which comprised of a set number of items.

    Non-Patterned Webbing

    ade its the outside of this haversack which made he think of the officers type however i have never actually seen the inside is it possible it could be a canadian manufactered vareant that doesn't come upder british so we both don't know it.

    Hi Tom, no not Canadian as their webbing has a distinctive yellow tinge to it.

    somehow it reminds me of the current issue radio pack just older and a differnt colour ill see if my grandad knows anything about this pack (you never know)

    I would love to say I remembered seeing one in an aircraft, but I just fell over that one on E Bay too LOL!
