    That looks to be a very nice WW2 dated US army M36 Canvas Field Bag bag.
    Any chance of a couple of pics of the other side of it.

    Hi Jock, Ian is correct. Often called a Musette bag.

    It is a good example. Used by Paratroopers as well as others. They are a nice little pack. They can be used with a sling or worn on the back via the M36 D Ring suspenders.

    Great piece of kit Jock, and thanks for the extra photos mate.

    Those clips look to be in great condition, they normally rust up to b*ggery on the "spring" part.

    That is a M36 mussette bag (same as the airborne would use)
    Tip-on the large flap to open it if it says "HANSON MFG. CO." it is a repro.

    Hi,

    No it states Arnold MFG Co 1943 as per the photo, I doubt its a repro surely there is enough US stuff out there?

    Is this a fact?How come?Does the same go for m36 suspenders too?Ive got some that are marked 'hinson'1943...
