Default sniper scope carrying case ?

A guy at work said that this is a “sniper scope carrying case for the M1 Garand M-84 scope”, But I am not sure, every one which I have seen is Stenciled with the model number. By the Stenciled dated 3-20 it would make it a pre Garand piece. I was thinking that it may be a Springfield case, but ever one which I have seen was leather?

Well- I guess that I am not the only one who have never seen this type of pouch/carrier, I’ll tell David, it is what he say it is.

Sorry Georg, I just don't know that much about U.S. webbing. Obviously not designed for the Garand with that date and I would think that it would need some sort of padding if it was designed to carry sensitive optics equipment...

    Nice piece though!
