Yes it's WW2 Canadian-made. Judging by the lines of stitching, I would guess it has a single webbing loop on the back right? If so, it's an MT Drivers Basic Pouch (MT = Motor Transport). These were issued to vehicle drivers as the pouch could be worn anywhere on the belt, it having been found that the standard Basic Pouch and Cartridge Carriers were both uncomfortable or awkward when driving.
Show me the back and i can verify it, but Im pretty sure that's what it is.
