I can only assume that the unit has not been identified yet as the numbers are not on Ben Majors website.
www.med-dept.com/pom/index.php?currentpage=1&pagecount=25&sortorder=`co de`%20ASC
Has it got any other painted symbols on it ?
Can you also give us the drawing number that is written under 'steel chest' D.......... ?
The D tells us that the official drawing was on paper 20" X 40". (50cm x 100cm)
How big is the box ?
I am not sure it is an ammo box.
hello,
Thank you for your interest.
Box is 74cm by 49cm by 29cm, weight is about 19kg.
Padlock is written Ordnance departement USA, they used to provide ammo and weapons and one of the drawing says Ordnance AMM. ADM., i guess for ammunition.
It is writen D34198 (Not 100% sure)
Regards
It is the ADM. marking which is making me think administration. A lot of paperwork needed doing !
Hello,
Thank you for you opinion.
