These two casings were found recently at an Estate Sale. Oddly, no other militaria was present.
Both are Berdan primed; neither looks like it has been fired, although the smaller has a dent on the primer face. I'm being careful.
The smaller one is ~3.230" long OA, ~1.215" rim dia. (knurled & very slightly chamfered away from the head-stamp), cylindrical ~1.040" dia. full length (~3.147").
The larger one is ~3.720 long OA, ~1.735" rim dia. (dead flat), tapered (~1.564" to ~1.544" in ~2.800") then necked to ~1.500" dia. for ~0.800"; length above rim ~3.625". This one has the painter marking on the head, and bears the Ordnance firebomb.
I'm grossly ignorant about head-stamp marks. Any help with identification will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
