I think the canteen is postwar Canadian issue.

Zwerge, here is a rather worn U.S. example.

You can see the snap button and "US" very faintly on the right side of the buckle.
I don't think American belts have brass fittings.

Well, at least one of the pouches is U.S. I used to live across the lake from you in Belle Ewart.

( The small pouch is US Vietnam era, for compass possibly. )

Hi Steve,I moved to BC in 1964,I went back to my mothers place in Belle Ewart in `86 to work on wiring the new Honda plant in Alliston.After mom died I have never been back.BC is such a beautiful province I never leave here except for winter holidays in Mexico.

The small pouch is a US M-56 F.A. pouch. The canteen cover also looks like a latter model M56 cover, are there any markings on the back? If the canteen is U.S. it will be marked on the bottom. You already know that the other is a U.S. jungle first aid kit.. Cheers

Hi, the only thing it says on the canteen is for water only.
