Article about: Please help me identify this compass (from my WW2 serving grandfather). I have found many examples of this general type online but none with a description from one with this interior compass

    Please help me identify this compass (from my WW2 serving grandfather). I have found many examples of this general type online but none with a description from one with this interior compass part (Chicago Apparatus Co.). Is this rare or what?

    I wouldn't say rare, I'm sure there are quite a few manufacturers that had limited runs. There were tons of different small companies during ww2 that pitched in to make equipment and gear
