Cheers for showing, as this is a piece of kit I do not have in my junk pile. Is it dated? and can I see the webbing holder to work out how this attaches to gear?

Hi René, I used to own one of these back in the 1980's before all my US kit was sold.

It hangs from the belt with the usual M1910 hanger. You can just see the hanger in the bottom left pic.

Your junk pile ref always makes me smile

    Cheers, Ade.

( I also see a Fender Strat or two in there ) Nice pick. There may be
a date under the mud below 'U.S.' and the maker.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Thanks for info! Actually I got this from a lady who gave me a bag of nice Militaria. Do you think I should clean the mud away or keep it as possible historical battlefield dirt?

What could it be worth? Just good to know

(And yes Steve, I also collect Fender Strats. I just sold a real beauty, scalloped 1972. Are you also a Strato-freak?

    Regards Al

Hi Al - The mud could be from the lady's old man digging in the garden.
Lol - if it makes you feel any better, you could scrape the dirt off
and keep it in a little vial !

I used to have a couple of Strats, but switched to Gibson
and the Les Paul many years ago.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Hah, no I'm not that desperate! I scraped off the dirt and it said U.S DIAMOND CALK 1943, thanks for the help. Has anyone got any current value opinion on this one?

"Oh really, I have to get myself a Les Paul in the future but right now I'm quite stuck to Stratocaster. I own about 15 strats totally.. It is as dangerous as collecting German helmets..."

I'd be guessing at around $75, as it is in good condition
and complete. Lol - vintage guitars can be as expensive
as German helmets, and then some !

( I've been thinking of buying a couple more Gibson
guitars. They are so well made......... )
    Regards,

    Steve.
