I looked at my holsters and I believe it is a revolver holster. The lift-dot fastner and the snap are close together. Rich A. in Pa.

I think Rich is correct. I believe it's for a Smith and Wesson Model 10 .38 revolver.

Not for the S&W Model 10 but the US S&W Victory in .38 Super with 4" barrel (the model designation is a postwar relabelling by S&W of their various revolvers).
