They look good to me Rene, are they stamped AN6531? This was the model type around that time.

    Regards, Ned.

Hi Rene, Ray-Bans have remained pretty much unchanged since they were
first produced in the late 1930's. The frames were gold plated. Your case
looks good, but possibly for another type or model, and the glasses
themselves look to me to be from another maker.

The brow bar and connector rail on Ray-Bans are two separate pieces
and the bridge is not pierced. Original cases for the AAF were usually
made of brown leather with slits on the back for wear on a belt.

I also have an old pair which are very similar to Ray-Ban Aviators,
but are also a close copy - These are on the headform below
with the earphones. Bottom pic shows genuine B&L RB's
with paddle temples. Have a look at the bridge.........

Going by the storage marks in the tin, this pair are the only ones to have lived there.
I also bought these from a second hand shop in town way before the internet came around. Additional shots attatched

Rene, I think these are a different make than RayBan. So many Airmen would have
needed or wanted sunglasses, and there would have been a lot of suppliers
    - official and private purchase.

Littlebuddy, your attachments do not open for me.........

There they are ! Great shades, and nice cases too. 'American Optical'
was a huge supplier - they made their own goggles, as well as lenses
for AN6530's and others. ( There are now 5 different types of
''Glasses, Flying, Sun'' in this thread.........! )
    Regards,

    Steve.
