I think it was bits of a Class A tunic. Chopped up and boxed, trying to sell it like bits of ‘the one true cross’!
Love the c.1941-1970... that’s pretty bloody ‘circa’ alright!
It’s a lifetimes work trying to fill a C1, mate!

They will be cutting up SS Helmets soon and putting the pieces in little boxes.
I recall seeing one of these back in the late 1970's and thinking how modern it looked for a wartime item.

Found the bugger!
Here's some additional shots. This one has a common field modification due to the catching ties.
Sorry had to dress it up a little! just with a repro M41 and a summer OR OS cap.
