British '37 pattern buckles on that belt, but not the belt itself.

    But East or West German?

The belt buckles are similar to UK p37 but are not brass, they're plain steel painted green. The belt does not have rear buckles it's just as seen all along the length. Notice one end is fixed, all adjustment done at the other.
All I can say is, it isn't British or Commonwealth, and it isn't Dutch. It does appear to have been made with both British and US equip, emt sets in mind though. Norwegian?

The belt is similar to what the Rhodesians use. Might be venue to explore. Bottles could be commercial items.
These types of buckles were used in S.A as well.

Forgot to mention, the carrier has chrome LTD fasteners and US style hanger hooks at the rear.

Hmm the Norwegians used the US style equipment after the war. (from the 1950 and onwards, before that they used a mix of British and left overs from the war)
I have quite an unusual collection of altered and mixed equipment "set-ups" for the Norwegian post war army.

However, no matter how strange equipment combinations the Norwegians made, I have never seen a US style belt with patt. '37 buckle.
