    Default Water Canteen

I know very little about Canteens.
I bought this thinking it was Australian. After inspecting the carrier i found the words "United Carr Canada" stamped on the inside of the snap button and what looks like a Canadian acceptance stamp on the webbing.
Also a stamp which i cant read but i can see 1942 any ideas what the other writing says.?
The cork lid has the D^D stamp plus the letters QP ?
There are no markings on the Blue Enamel body.
Lots of questions, hope someone can help
    Cheers Mick

Hi Mick It is an Australian issued canteen. QP is the manufacturer of the bottle or cork, The webbing carrier is Canadian made but is Australian issue as a good percentage of all the webbing used by Aussies in WW2 was Canadian made as they were the only country that was able to supply us because we were cut off from Britain and we didn't get our manufacture of webbing up and running until 1942-43 and even then they were still supplying us.

    Cheers Luke.
