    Default WW2 Biscuit ration tin

    Hello everyone,

Im wondering what you think of this biscuit tin? It came with a load of other WW2 items and judging by the style it looks to be from the WW2 period. No lid unfortunately.

Any suggestions? Have you seen them before?

    Thanks

Hi Chris that tin of yours comes from my home-town and was made by a company called William Crawford and Sons now defunct. I have just looked them up but could only find this link.

MB6 would be for the Metal Box company.I'm guessing 6 is the type number.Nice box.Pity the contents are gone...I'm wondering what the mid-day snack was?!

The only other one i can find is on this site:

WWII ration biscuit tin | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

The description says how the parents were given it during ww2? That one does however say packed 44.

Saying that, they were also probably used post war as you suggest .

I was thinking that. I'm quite content with a biscuit as a mid day snack!
