many thanks steve and spitace ,to be honest ive owned this one for years ,i think my father gave it to me ,but at one time i was using it to store pesticides safely away from the young daughter down at the bottom of the garden ,its been out in all weathers and has faired pretty well ,finally i have paid some attention to it and now it resides amongst my other militaria ,the internals as you say spitace are great for filling with stuff that might be affected by natural daylight ,thanks again ,james

I have one of these that I've restored from a tool box and marked up as a 3" mortar ammo box, which according to the web was one of its original contents.
