Default WW2 police home guard gas mask?

Hi there a bloke at work gave me this today. He said he was clearing his attic out and came across it. It has a 'Bedfordshire Police' badge on the bag. I just wondered if it was from WW2?
    Many thanks
    Jay.

Don't think so, i bet GasmasUK can help you with that. But i think the mask is Post-war.

Finally I'm here and of course I have not missed this thread. I have to agree with Zero, this is an M74 Gas Mask. Based on the German M62 which has also been copied by Iraq, Israel, Spain to name a few. Nice mask and unusual that it has had extra insignia attached to the carrier

    Thanks

    Jay,

Just to add a bit more to this, the cap badge is, I believe missing its central emblem, (I think that it should be the monarch's initials eg: EIIR). Also, I am sure that you are aware that the serjeants chevrons appear to be modern, ie post 1950)

As usual, I am willing to stand corrected by others more knowledgeable than me.

    Regards etc
