Hi Rhys, WW2 nets are all string and dyed hessian sack type material, dark brown and green. You can still find them or early post war nets. Price depends on size. They are fairly heavy, so shipping to Oz, if you found one, would not be cheap.
You could make a copy but it would take you ages!

Here is mine...dated 1945. Big, heavy and smelly! I have it stored in one of those huge canvas WWII tent bags and it doesn't come out much. Wish I had a war room big enough to display it.
were these cam nets made in production or made in the field by soldiers as it makes sense that a cam net would need to be changed for different areas

These are factory produced items. Natural foliage would be added in the field if conditions dictated.
