Erkennungsmarken 1 Komp L.A.H.

Hello everyone.

I recently took delivery of this Erkennungsmarken 1 Komp L.A.H. ID disc, and ask that the forum experts kindly check these photos in order to confirm if it is original to WW2 Germany.
The first three photos were supplied by the seller, but the last photo on the bottom, was taken by me to demonstrate how severely the legibility has degraded compared to the sellers photos.
Is this normal ?
The second photo in my post was presumably taken before the seller cleaned it, in order to indicate authenticity.

I don't think this one is original. The font seems incorrect to me. You should look in the Fake font and Fake SS erkennungsmarken sub-forums, this should tell you enough.

Edit: It is also artificially aged.

I'm sorry to tell you that this is clearly an artificially aged Ekm, the process still destroying the metal which is why the disc looks even worse now than when the seller took the original. He has sold you a fake and attempted to deceive you. You are entitled to a full refund and if you got it via an online auction then hopefully you can get your money back. There are sellers known to deceive so look and ask on the forum before losing your money.

As Ade said, the dog tag's alleged unit did not exist, and the above information is false:

Sure, Panzer-Abteilung 302 was disbanded in 1943, with most of its personnel incorporated into Panzer-Abteilung 301... The only problem is, these were army units with no connection to the SS whatsoever.

The Schweren SS-Panzer-Abteilungen were numbered 101 to 103, re-designated in late 1944 as 501 to 503.
