There is a Battery Lothringen at Noirmont in Jersey, but would this type of ID disc been used?
The seller has loads of fakes for sale, I don't like this one either.
The disks for this battery should refer to: The 3rd Battery of Naval Artillery Battalion 604, not sure how they were stamped but I am guessing not like the one shown here. I think it is bad as well. The other disks this seller has are modern stampings.
Who is the seller ?
Damien or Jersey 34 will know, I would say he is the worlds foremost authority on anything UK Channel Islands related, I admire and envy the guy very much
Cheers
It is on EBAY
He also has this disk
There is another on eBay also, does not bode well
This disc is a total fantasy item and I contacted the seller 4 or 5 days ago and asked him to explain his claim of it being original. His reply was along the lines of.... there were not that many men who served in the Batterie so it must be rare. When I pointed out that it just did not conform to an original disc in any way he did not seem interested. I asked him to adjust his sales pitch to reflect what he was actually selling and as of yest have not checked as I have just returned from the Stoneliegh Militaria Show.
