Hi there, I've come across this tag (it looks like a mini dog tag) It has the word 'FÖRDEG' on the front of the disc, and is blank on the rear. The seller says it was found on a Luftwaffe Airfield.
Does anyone know what it is?
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee, my german ***** and my translator acts like Fordeg is a proper name. Did you post a picture? I can't see any photos if you did.
Jay
Hi Jay,
Yeah I posted a pic, but it must not be visable for some reason. Not a problem buddy... I'll re-post the pic shortly.
Cheers,
Lee
Hi Lee, I have added the pic directly to your post. No need to use outside hosting here. Just upload them direct. See "FAQ" at top right.
Cheers, Ade.
Cheers Ade,
I uploaded it using my mobile phone (my desktop pc is playing up at the moment) thats why i had to use the hosting site.
Thanks for sorting it for me mate,
Lee
The style of disc is that of the Kriegsmarine, however it looks as though this one's just plain zinc, is that right or is it just the lighting and it's actually kind of a bronzy colour?
I'd guess it's a surname as well- although it's not a common German one I'm familiar with. A quick Google search shows it as possibly a Swedish word although the translator doesn't recognize it...
Certainly not having a unit or 'Kriegsmarine' in addition to the name, it's not likely a military disc; factory workers, non-military medical, authorities and even evacuated children could have Erkennungsmarken of one form or another.
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
Hi,
this is a workers tag from the shipyard company Foerdeg.
