German "Waffen-SS" Dog Tag help?

I have a dog tag but I do not know anything about it, it is possible through the dog tag to know who the person was or what his service in the war? Thanks for your help.

Goodmorning JJ,

first of all, I think the EKM looks good. It compares nice to other origials I have seen.

Then regarding the soldier wearing this EKM, you have the Deutsche Dienststelle (WASt) where you could get this info.
But as far as I know, they will only give you this information if you are related to the person who wore the EKM.
