It's worth is the cost of the alloy and cup of coffee in time to stamp.
Respect your opinion..but i don't agree.
Several problems here.
This is an old original tag. However the stamping is new in my opinion.
The story of it being found in Sicily has to be false. The Division was redesignated "Fallschirm-Panzer-Division Hermann Göring" in April 1944. The fighting in Sicily had ended long before that....So a tag with this designation could not be found there.

Yes...the place is not correct..but i am sure the stamp is not new. Many people had verufued..but i respect your opinion of course. :-)
What material is the disk made from? Zinc?
I agree the stamping looks to be on the top.
I think what Ade means is that by comparing the level of corrosion (edges & surface ) then compare the crispness of the stamping ( the letter 'A' for example ) and it seems implausible that the corrosion would not have also blurred the sharpness of the stamping. Compare to this one of mine - see the soft edge to the stamping? .... this is what we mean.
( I hope of course that we are wrong )
cheers, Dan
