Yes, well that's the problem- often it's quite complicated LOL

The TOE you found does show field units that might be appropriate choices if you take my second idea- issuing 'replacement' discs that a field unit would carry but not necessarily that any men in it would ever wear. Either of the two Panzergrenadier-Regimenter would be fine and you can choose any Kompanie number up to 12 if you want them to be infantrymen, although note that 4, 8, and 12 were the MG Kompanien.

A disc appropriate for one of these might read:

2./ Pz. Gren. Rgt. 1 HG

The other Regiment, 2, would be fine as well.

and have a serial number from 1 up. Each would too have a blood group letter- either A, B, O or AB. No Rh factor.

This is not the educated guess type, but the certain to exist, but not to be issued in any numbers.

The alternative is what you wrote:

2./ Ers. Rgt. Div. HG but the serial numbers would probably be better a bit higher- maybe just less than 100 or 200 because 1 would be the very first man to join and he may have properly been unit staff, not a field soldier (it makes sense that the first men would be the staff and cadre); this one is highly theoretical as we don't even know if the timing is correct- this unit could have been created after your 3. 44 battle, and we don't know if it was ever anything but a Flak unit.

And you're welcome- I wish there were a more straightforward answer, but indeed whatever you choose will be a cool thing for your guys
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...

Paul, you say that your group has a Panzer III, is that the one made from an FV432 ?
    Regards, Simon.

Yes it was built from a FV432, here is a short clip of it in action.

I wish I could say that was me on top, but that weekend I was in the rear manning the Gulaschkanone! Thanks, Paul.

Paul, I was only talking to a bloke about that Panzer at the Bunker Bash a couple of weeks ago. He is a member of Kampfgruppe Stahlkrieger. He was saying that one of his friends built this Panzer III.
    Regards to all, Simon.

Paul, it seems as though there are more than 1 fv432 - Panzer III's that have been converted.
Here is a link to Kampfgruppe Stahlkrieger's Panzer III in the UK:-

FV432 conversion to Panzer 3 german tank

And a link to the man that built it, aswell as a FV432 converted to a Stug:-

And some photos of the Panzer in action:-

I would love one of these conversions, an automatic Panzer III

    Regards to all, Simon.
