Hey Matt L...

I debated about putting this in the Allies forum, but I thought you might miss it.

In appreciation of all that you have taught me about Erkennungsmarken, and taking the time out to do so, I thought I would reciprocate with a little Canadian Dog Tag Fake Challenge for you.

I know that the Canadian Tags are not your bag, so I thought I would help you out with my VAST knowledge of WW2 Canadian and Commonwealth tags. They can be a little tricky if you are not up on the abbreviations and the fonts. So hope fully you will find this helpful.

So..here's the tag..

Well..first off...the abreviation for Canada has been misspelled. It should read Cdn not USA.

Second...well, jeez..look at the size of the thing, it's as big as a dinner plate. This is way to big for a Canadian tag. They are usually much smaller, and a little more comfortable to wear.

LOL Awesome. USA is a funny way to abbreviate 'Canada' unless you're a 'manifest destiny' type.

Can I add that the "S" is upside down

True..the "s" is upside down, but that is typical of this particular font.

Also..had this been a true Canadian tag, "Marks", would most likely have been spelled Marques...or Marx, depending on what branch or Province they were from.

Marques would be from La Belle Province, Quebec...

..and Marx would probably be brother in the Intelligence Corps, right next to Harpo, or Groucho.

..also "H" I am quite positive, is not a blood group.
