I can’t read the back for sure but I think that it say “KOMP “,”J—Rgt 54”,12/54, 499. Hope that you can tell better by the photo.

That one's interesting- I'd wonder if the 'back' is actually the front and has the original marking since the other side has "WEHRM" on it and the designation 'Wehrmacht', if that's what it is, didn't exist in WWI.

You'd need a WWI unit expert to give you any information about those ones, but as for some of the markings, they're easy enough:

JR is Infanterie Regiment (an old German script 'I' looked like a 'J', so 'J' was used extensively even in WWII)

Ers. is Ersatz (Replacement- as in replacement troops)

    Battr. is Batterie- Artillery Battery

    Abt. is Abteilung- Detachment

    Art. is Artillerie

    K is Kompanie

    FSARTL is Fußartillerie

    Batl. is Bataillon

The dates, like 14.12.97, are the soldiers' birthdates, and the locations like Forchheim, and Dusseldoff DUSSELL STR 12 (that's the city of Dusseldorff, Dussel Straße 12) are home towns and addresses, respectively.

The numbers, like NR2661, are the soldiers' roster number
