This is the first dog tag found it near Berlin.....

Very nice Colby- that's 3. Batterie Nebel-Ersatz-Abteilung 2 - so the guy was possibly a Nebelwerfer crewman since the unit supplied troops to 4 Werfer-Brigaden, 5 Nebelwerfer-Regimenter, and 13 Nebelwerfer-Abteilungen; it was also associated with 7 chemical warfare units (Engiftungs-Abteilungen), so that's another possibility- but given that nothing like that was ever employed, and the Nebelwerfer were in fair quantities, that's a better bet I think.

I have one of these from the 2. Batterie myself- interestingly the lettering matches perfectly, but the Stammrollennummer on mine is above, not below the unit title. So even if they had an identical stamp set or used the same one, sometimes it seems each Kompanie (Batterie) had their own way of marking discs anyway...

Yeah I agree I have seen dozens of these and sometimes they got really creative and made their own. That's another reason it is hard to purchase these form different people. I like to find them myself lol
