One of these here disks

Article about: Ahoy. Entirely out of my comfort zone but I've seen this for sale. What's the general thought, what's it worth, what's it about? Thanks! Robbie

    Hi Robbie,

Well the marking means 7. Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment 525, Stammrollennummer 40, Blutgruppe B- 7th company of infantry regiment 525, roll number 40, blood group B. But I don't think it's real- the tall, narrow, sans-serif character type is common on fakes but extremely rare on real discs (if it was ever used at all), and in particular the numbers either match or are extremely close to many fakes I've seen; the 'O', the '2', the '4' and the '7' are all a set that I've seen many times- here's one fake that looks way too close to this one for comfort:

Plus notice how the white crystalline deposits and other patina don't continue into some of the stamp marks- rather they just end, suggesting the 'age' was there first and the stamps afterwards- so it might be an original blank that was more recently stamped by a faker.

This one's definitely too dodgy to take a chance on.
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
