Interesting disk, not sure about the "F" but the RT. ZG. translates to Reiter Zug, Calvary group. So it very well could be: Reserve Company Fortress Infantry Calvary Platoon 44.

Can't be an Erstaz Kompanie for a Zug !!

Well assuming that is true, could RT. ZG. be a place? I know RT is sometimes used as "Reservetruppe" ZG can also be train but I have never seen ERS and Reserve on the same tag.

Close, but it's replacement company fur infantry Reiter Zuge. Supplied horse trained replacements for the mounted infantry kompanies. Unusual tag, but fine to me. Welcome also.

    Typos corrected etc.

So a Kompanie sized unit as the replacement element for a platoon ! Never seen that before where a larger unit is the replacement element for what would normally be a smaller component unit of the larger one , if that makes sense , not sure in what circumstancres that would happen!!

Slight correction required due to answering via poxy mobile phone.
Should say Ersatz Kompanie fur Infanterie Reiter-zuge, that is plural not singular Paul D, which is why it confused you.
