Got this today. It was ground dug on a retreat area not far from here. It's a lucky find, because the unit was located and fought around here. It is in good conditions too.

Very nice- it's pretty cool to get stuff directly from the source and especially so for it to be a local history object. The disc itself is interesting as it shows a somewhat peculiar feature one sometimes sees- all the abbreviations in capitals except 'Kompanie' which is made using either a lower case 'p' like it is here, or a capital 'p' is stamped lower down (like a subscript) to emulate that. It's also different to have a dot after the serial number and unit number.

the guy dug other interesting ID tags. I got another one which should be from a Polizei unit, but I still have to clean it.
