Hello All, any opinion on this SS VT disk?
I don't think this one's real. There's nothing good about it, and several things that are bad. The most obvious dodgy thing is the way the roll number is split up to go around the bottom hole; that's virtually never see on real discs, but common on fakes. The major problem is that the 'O' is used both for the roll number and blood group- that's pretty unrealistic since the blood group mark is put on at a later time, and in a later place, by a later person than the primary markings. I can't think of a scenario where the same stamp would be used unless the disc is a replacement and even then. Plus blood group markings weren't included on discs until mid-1941, long after this particular disc is supposed to have been made; it's a pre- or very early-war marking, so the blood group letter would have been put on years later...
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
I too am seeing irregularities. I would have to pass on this one also.
