    Hello
    I like to have information on this battalion:Stabsb-Fl-Schw-Ers Abtl 43
    I am thinking of buying this Erkennungsmarke, but before contacting the seller, I want to know is that Battalion.
    There is no doubt about its authenticity.
    It was found buried
    Thanks and regards

    I translated a bit:
    Stab = Personal
    Schw = Schwere (Heavy)
    Ers = Ersatz (Replacement)
    Abt = Abteilung
    But I do not know what it means Stabsb. Fl. and join all the words.

    That's a good try javimetal- you got some of it; but it's actually:

    Stabsb.=Stabsbatterie (staff [command] battery)
    Fl-Schw. = Flak-Scheinwerfer (Flak searchlight)
    Ers. Abt. = Ersatz-Abteilung (replacement detachment)

    So the unit is: Stabsbatterie, Flak-Scheinwerfer-Ersatz-Abteilung 43 - staff battery, Flak searchlight replacement detachment 43.

    It is authentic, but just because it looks ground-dug or the seller says it was dug up doesn't necessarily mean it's real. It's not in great shape overall and a Flak searchlight unit isn't the most desirable of units, so I wouldn't expect to pay much for this half- maybe $10 or $12USD.

    Thanks for the translation.
    It is a bit expensive, about $ 20.
    This battalion, was dedicated to illuminating the sky and Flak guns have light ... for example, at night?
    Thanks Matt

    Yeah, $20 for a half in this condition and not really being that 'interesting' a unit is high.

    Right- the searchlights tried to find individual bombers for either the guns or Nachtjäger pilots to see. They also caused clouds to be illuminated which the Nachtjäger in particular used since bombers below them would be silhouetted against them, but primarily it was an active thing- they are 'search' lights afterall.
