as I mostly collect POW tags i have a number which have been reused with the original info crossed out, but are from with in the same camp. Some are even used from other camps. I was told that some units which were used to guard the camps had the same tags and not the oval type. but I have not seen any.

Eike41.....The top disk, is that a camp worker? How would you define that its a camp guard? The reason I ask is that I was offered one like yours about 2 years ago at Cinny. I was told it was a camp worker but they wanted alot of money for it..... so I turned it down.... paul

As far as I know camp workers would not have had any ID disks different from the POW tag if they were POW's. The Germans did not have civilian labor working on the camp. It would have been something like RAD or forced labor (no tag).

Thanks to all for the info as ever...... Eike41 ....I am doing some research into some Polish tags which came from a prison camp in Russia. Interesting that Forced Labor did not have tags. The Polish records show that this prisoner was at a stalag and was "forced labor" on a German farm. After some time he was shipped of to a different camp. I only have his Polish tags......paul.

You will see the Dulag ekm has the owners blood group stamped on it as well as his personal roll nummer. Something a camp inmate would not have been given the luxury of.
