water found tag , Sicherheitspolizei Einsatzkommando
This ID tag is quite corroded due to long stay in water.
It cannot be cleaned better than you see, because it would probably be damaged.
thanks to Macro lens and studying it a bit, I could make out the markings:
Sicherheitspolizei
Einsatz-Kdo
I couldn't find any information about these tags, although it makes sense since it was found in a bandenkampf area in northern slovenia.

Very different indeed- note the extremely high serial number.

Re: water found tag , Sicherheitspolizei Einsatzkommando
Matt, I started wondering if the first digit might possibly indicate the einsatz-kdo? #3 = Osijek ?

Re: water found tag , Sicherheitspolizei Einsatzkommando
It's the same as the rest of the numbers though and spaced exactly the same as them so I doubt it- it'd be pretty dumb of the person who did the stamping as well to put the serial number immediatly following the unit number so as to make it appear to be 32610 when it's really 2610. No, I think the whole thing is the serial number and it's not really odd- clearly it's too high for a Kompanie-sized unit roll, which most discs are from, but this is an entire Kommando, which I wouldn't immediatly think is unreasonable to have had over 32000 men in it- it's a very general title so maybe it was the main unit for security police all over.
I don't have any information either- all I find for Sicherheitspolizei is a listing for the Kommandeur der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD in Zhitomir and the Befehlshaber der Sicherheitspolizei und des SD in Paris. Both do suggest it was a single, large organization which fits with the high number too...
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...

Re: water found tag , Sicherheitspolizei Einsatzkommando
yes, it's probably quite a generic ID tag hence the high number.
On another forum, I found similar tags and what I heard is also that a certain number of them were recovered from Bled lake, northern Slovenia ( close to here).
Someone gave as reference the following einsatz-kdo:
KdS Banja Luka (Einsatzkommando 1) (FpN: 57203 C) - disbanded Feb 45
KdS Sarajevo (Einsatzkommando 2) (FpN: 59935 C)
KdS Esseg (Osijek) (Einsatzkommando 3) (FpN: 56028 C)
KdS Knin (Einsatzkommando 4) (FpN: 56585 C)
KdS Agram (Zagreb) (Einsatzkommando 5) (FpN: 58639 C)
Einsatzkdo.d.Sipo in Beograd, Ljubljana and Triest.
