1960s Soviet Airforce Uniform ID

Hello Friends, here is what I believe to be a Soviet Airforce uniform. I purchased it on Ebay several years ago. All the buttons on this outfit are plastic and appear to be dated '62' along with a maker's name. Curious as to your opinions of this set? I am not a uniform specialist, my area of expertise is poster propaganda of the USSR. Thanks!

I'm not up on newer stuff, but I believe that this is Sr Lt of KGB (or NKGB).

Both badges are for University/Acadamies.

Thanks RichieC, this helps me because I was unsure as to the rank and classification of the uniform. I posted a photo of a 1970s KGB uniform that shows the same style of shoulder boards. I grabbed this image off "Russian Arsenal". My other question is if these are both KGB uniforms, why do they not have the KGB crest? (see photo insert).

Pure fantasy piece - especially that sleeve diamond and the wound stripes. LOL

The crest was not an insignia to adorn a uniform to designate it KGB. Shoulder-board stripe and collar-tab colour do...

This one is just bogus, it is an enlisted man jacket (see collar cut) that has been fitted with a plaethora of badges and "decorations" (Voin sportsman, militia classification badge etc.) that are not related. Also, notice the sloppy shoulder board attachment and the sleeve patch that should not be on this type of uniform.

It is a site for re-production pieces but claims to have original pieces, like the above 1970s tunic. Lawnmover, can you please verify for me the authenticity of my 1960s uniform set I have posted above. If you can, take a look at the other posting I did for a 1980s Tanker uniform.

The ribbon bars are not part of this uniform. The ribbons go 1940s-1980s and this is a 1960s (1964) daily uniform. While the tunic itself is most likely OK, the boards are easily replaced with the branch of your choice I am not sure if the blue-white rhombus academy badge is appropriate for this uniform, some claim it is a civilian badge. The other badge is OK.

I see nothing wrong with that set Will - it seems like a nice Cold-War example. Maybe take some close-ups of the ribbon bar so we can see what orders/medals they represent to determine if they indeed belong to that uniform.

- Order of Patriotic War II class
- Order of Red Star
- Order of Red Star
- 70th anniversary Soviet armed forces
- 60th anniversary Soviet armed forces
- 40th anniversary Victory 1985
- Victory over Germany
- 30th anniversary Victory 1975
- 30th anniversary Soviet army and navy

No - I doubt they belong on this uniform.
